Question Lets Talk SHOCKS... Which would YOU get?

Out of these 3 sets, which would YOU get and why? This means front/rear shock/strut combos....

1'st set : KYB AGX Adjustable struts/shocks

2'nd set : Tokico HP Blue struts/shocks

3'rd set : Bilstein HEAVY DUTY shocks/struts

This should be in the autocross forum.

My answer depends on what you do with your car.

A buddy of mine has the KYB AGX shocks on his car and he loves them. I don't know if it's a fair comparison though, he doesn't drive an fbody. It's a Supra though, kinda big and heavy like a Camaro/Firebird(although the suspension is very diferent)

I say call Sam Strano. He sells all of those shocks and can tell you exactly what the differences are. I'll say it again, it's the best call you can make.

Personally, I 'd say Bilstein HD's.

I got my bilstein HD's and love em. I told my brother to get Bilstein HD's on his 89 5.0 and he loves em too. There is no doubt that bilstein will make you happy but for more money there is of course better options...

koni adjustables
hal qa1
kyb agx

etc etc.

I heard tokico makes decent shocks too.

The 3 sets I listed above can be had for 300 a set plus 25 shipping give take 5 bucks. the tockico's or however u spell them are 285.99..... so whatever is the best I'd get out of the 3, I'm leaning to the kyb's but hear alot of good with the blisteins...

The Bilsteins are rebuildable/revalveable if that makes any difference. I don't know about the others.

Whatever you do, don't skimp on your shocks. The very worst suspension part on a 4th gen F-Body are the shocks. Just because you can get some $20 or so cheaper, don't let that decide which ones you'll get.

I second calling Strano. I did, and don't regret it a bit. In fact, he was so opinionated, sure, and "short" in telling me what I needed that I thought I was getting blown off. However, this guy knows his stuff and goes about servicing customers w/o any bullsh** or smoke. Just tell him about your car and what you want to accomplish with it. You'll get the right, and best answers. DEFINITELY do business with him. I give credit where credit is due.
