It's even on sale. I don't like the big ugly idler pully that's up there though. And it leaves the stock alt. mounting bracket up top too.

I am going to figure out a way to cut the top off of the bracket and still have power steering and a/c and put my alt down where the air pump was.

Have fun.I could'nt really see any way but I did'nt look into it a whole lot.Let me know when you figure it out and thats what i'm going to do.This time i'm going to let you do all the work.Better yet, just make two.LOL
I'd rather see a idler pully there than that big ugly alternator thats above everything.Just my opinion though.

Re: Lets See Pics Of Tall Valve Covers

i have a few of the speed specialty brackets that i was going to put on my 3 cars but decided not to. If any of you'll want to relocate your alt to where the air pump was, pm me and i'll give you a deal on mine just to get them out the way.

Re: Lets See Pics Of Tall Valve Covers

Here's a few pics of my setup. I have AFR stud girdles on the rocker studs as well. I have a different alternator relocation setup since I wasn't keeping the A/C. I didn't like the look of the one that has the plate with the idler that connects the two alternator mounting ears. This one actually removes the bigger of the two bracket ears for a little cleaner install.

Re: Lets See Pics Of Tall Valve Covers

Covers I have are just the short version which everyone else seems to be running now but I painted mine, they also have the cutout for the alt but I have it facing the other way now since it is not needed and is ugly.

If you are looking ideas to relocate accessories you can see what I did. No ac though on mine, alt pass side low, PS drivers low.

Re: Lets See Pics Of Tall Valve Covers

I basically made the setup. Nothing terribly hard about. I had my engine out for another setup I wanted to run and mocked up the piece while it was on the stand.

The alt is a smaller unit from a 92 Z28 which is a 140 amp unit (exact same connector as our fourth gen cars) a PS from a new SSR since it rotates clockwise (LT1 PS pump rotates counter clockwise), a couple of generic pullies from summit for like 20 bucks each and two belts. Material I had laying around that I used for the brackets.

The bracket on the PS pump I beefed up and used 1/2 aluminum plate since it did not trust the first piece I made. No problems so far. I also have a griffen radiator that sits straight up and down compared to the stock slanted piece so I have a ton of room now for the MSD opti that I waiting to put it soon

Car is down till I get that.

Diablo the pics posted by tubro are of a different pulley on a stock alternator you can just use a puller and put it on your stock piece.

Re: Lets See Pics Of Tall Valve Covers

Turbo6 where did you get that alt bracket from?! I've got the speed specialties version which I like but can't use anymore along w/ the AC delete pulley and don't want the alt back in its orginal location. That bracket you have is perfect as I don't have AC either. I need that bracket!

Thanks!
