Lightbulb Leaving for Army duty..question on LT1 Z28 storage

What should I do as far as storing my 93 with LT1 for a few months mostly during Winter conditions. Car stays outside with cover over it. Any bad things as far as a LT1 sitting with not much use for 5 cool months? Temp. here in Winter is usually 25-55 degrees. It will be cranked and maybe driven a little once a week. ALOT of sitting though.
Any helpful advice is appreciated!!

Shouldn't many adverse effects for that amount of time. Just be sure that there are no fluids that can freeze, so check coolant and washer fluid. A warm up to operating temp every once in a while would not hurt. Perhaps add some fuel stabilizer and change oil before hand.

It's just that fresh oil will have less contaminants from the engine sitting in it. That was the point. How many/much it will have in 2 months, I don't know. It's a judgement call, I guess. Not that it is an absolute necessity.

I left mine for 8 months and when I came home on leave it started right up and drove like normal. So I tink it will be fine.

Add a bottle of fuel stabilizer then fill the gas tank. A full gas tank will not collect condensation/moisture like an empty tank will. Also changing the oil before parking it is a good idea as mentioned. I'd just put some cheapo oil in there while its parked then change it out with your regular oil when you get back. Unless someone is driving it once a week its not really a good idea to start it once a week for five months. Unless its driven up to operating temp each time condensation will build up in the exhaust which can lead to it rusting out. Maybe have someone run it once or twice while your gone but I wouldnt start it once a week for five months, cold startups are hard on any engine. Unless this person really needs to drive it once a week while your gone.

It will probably be just fine. The things I mentioned are just precautionary tips, they aren't "essential" for storing the car for a long period. You will most likely have to jump start it if you didnt disconnect the battery after that long though. These cars can really drain batteries just sitting for a few months it seems, at least mine does.

Stay safe over there!
