Question Leaking, Need Help!!!

I woke up today, and since last night that i put a towel underneath my car, and i know that my engine is leaking a bit cause the mobil 1 fully syn.
and, it is leaking from the rear main seal...

but, i found couple of purple fluid drops, which i don't know what it could be.

i took it to the tranny shop, because i had my tranny rebuilt 5000 miles ago, and he told me that my tranny is not leaking..

i looked at my tranny dip stick, and it smelt diff. but he told me that it smells like that, cause it gets hot..

and, i looked at the color and it's red like it should be..

so, i'm trying to figure out, where is that PURPLE color coming from..

Thanks,

Re: Leaking, Need Help!!!

Do you use royal purple fluids? J/K

The only purple fluid I have ever seen in a car are certain windsheild washer fluids. Does the fluid feel like an oil of somekind?

Re: Leaking, Need Help!!!

What part of the car is the leak coming from?

Very front of car.....Power steering
At one of the wheels......Brake fluid
At back of motor..........Clutch slave cylinder
From Firewall..............Master cylinder Brakes and/or clutch

Brake fluid / Clutch fluid can look purple. These fluids are normally clear when new, but can appear blue or purple.....

Re: Leaking, Need Help!!!

Your tranny fluid would appear red or Maroon, unless it were mixed with dirty motor oil, then it may appear purple, but more I'd say like a blackish red. The lines of the tranny and the pan and or front pump seal could be the culprit on the tranny.
