I bought a set and am wondering if they will be good enough for my new combo OUT OF THE BOX(SOLIDROLLER 383 WITH A BIG CAM AND A 250 SHOT)

Re: LE3 Flow Numbers!
Can I play too? Mine also are from 2003. Before he had stages. Couldn't afford the all out head at the time but did have him put better valves in. He stated that the mid lift numbers turned out pretty good.

Re: LE3 Flow Numbers!
Here are some flow numbers for Carter's (for those of you who don't remember he is my local porter/mechanic) Stage 3 heads... stock LT1 castings.

Re: LE3 Flow Numbers!
Happy bench... you can get either high lift numbers or mid lift numbers or spend a lot of money and time fixing the heads to get both...
.100 70.5 / 61.4
.200 140.4 / 124.6
.300 206.6 / 180.0
.400 258.1 / 214.2
either way I don't think those are happening on a 4.0 bore with the head placed in the right spot on the bore.

Re: LE3 Flow Numbers!
I've asked that guy a lot of questions about his heads (Carter)....he said it's a CNC program, and finished up with hand porting. No welding mentioned.
I asked if he would be willing to have them flowed by a 3rd party, and he said no, but I can go watch him flow them. Said he uses an SF600.
I still don't believe it though.

Re: LE3 Flow Numbers!
Yeah BS... If my heads really flowed that I would ship them out and pay to ship them back just for clarification. You know cause flow numbers mean everything. Those heads can move 300cfm, but not without a lot of work.... hell both Lloyd and Phil do a lot of those heads and have played with everything and don't put out 300cfm heads.
