LE2 setup running rich on start up

LE2 setup running rich on start up, it runs good after it warms up, but really loads up on cold start up. Bryan did the mail order tune, i switched back to the stock throttle body, and it idles better, but its real rich on start up. ANY IDEAS?

If its been beat to death, why doesnt it show when i search? With that said, i am sure you are right, Dyno is the way to go. You think all you
would need is a mail order tune, how many 355 LE2 setups has Bryan tuned? By now he must have it down.

my car runs a bit rich on startup, i believe its open loop, and then runs normal after it goes into closed loop. or i might have it backwards. not really sure why it does it, but might lead you in the right direction

just make sure your oil isn't turning black quickly and that you don't smell fuel in it. if you find either of these to be a issue, stop running the car untill you get the issue fixed and keep your oil changed.

Is you fuel pressure correct? Also, Bryan does an outstanding job with the mail-order tunes.

I dont doubt that his mail order tune is good, mine is just running rich on start up, i am using the stock fuel pressure regulator, and 37lb delphi injectors. It runs rich in closed loop, but when it warms up its dead on. I have long tube headers with no AIR/EGR, i think its because it takes the oxygen sensors so long to warm up. The oil was a little dirty for the miles i have put on it. I am going to need it Dynoed, any suggestions as to who does a good LT1 tune in New Jersey?

the car starts in open loop, then goes into closed loop. change that oil asap and make sure you don't smell fuel in it, i can't stress that enough. You run the risk of washing out the rings and bearings if it gets to much fuel in the oil.

You can not nail a tune remotely. It MUST go to the dyno. Every motor is different. This does show up in a search BTW.

I thought my mail order tune was good too. It was causing the motor to run lean for over a year and the timing tables were off.

Don't you mean runs rich in OPEN LOOP as once it's warmed up it switches to Closed loop? Also, Bryan's tune is dead on with my 383 and he is still working with me to tweak it very slightly. As to the Dyno tunes, not to many guys still have the software to tune the LT-1 and in my area (Houston) there is really only 2 guys in the city that still dyno tune the LT-1 and they charge 550-600 for a tune. Seems a bit steap when I can work with Bryan and tune mine myself with my cable for $75. Just my 2 cents!!!!

Ask Bryan about adding "Closed TPS" timing, it will help clean up your combustion.

thats why you log some data and send it to bryan and he will make the needed adjustments. I had mine dyno tuned before I sprayed my truck and the tuner (very experienced lt1 tuner) could only get 6 more hp out of the tune. That is pretty nailed in my book.
