LE2 Cam at idle?

LE2 Cam at idle?
I'm considering getting an LE2 cam, but my question is, how bad does the exhaust smell at idle? I won't be running a cat, so I'm just wondering if I'm going to kill the person sitting behind me at a traffic light. Also does anyone run a cat with this cam with no issues? Thanks.

whos cares about other people in traffic? i love it when a middle aged guy in a bmw 3 series convertible is sitting next to me and my idle sound and smell ruins his perfect atmosphere. what's he gonna do? try to outrun me?

The thread originator did not designate where he is located, but I also believe it safe to say that this cam, or heaven forbit the LE3 is not recommended to anyone that is in an area that must comply with testing. Unless of course, actual testing is done with a different cam or engine. I'm an old guy that does not see the justice in doing an engine or cam swap to pass emissions. Sure, this cam apparently makes power, but what is the point if emissions is necessary? It is not really a secret narrowing the LSA increases power, so is it unfair to say your cam is superior if the competition can pass emissions? Not attempting to discredit your personalized cam selection service, but I don't see it as a level playing field.
There is a specific LE emissions cam as well.

I can get mine to run pretty lean at idle and it still smells but its more like a well tuned bike though. My eyes dont tear up or anything but its mildly obvious Im not running cats. Still if I could put in 1 or 2 cats Id do it!... I dont enjoy smelling my cars exhaust all over my clothes.
For this reason among others is why my next build will be a mild S/C setup running dual cats. No nasty cam sounds or smells, better emission, better fuel economy and best of all it will make far more power.
