le2,ai pkg verses afr 195 lt4 eliminator head
I'm eventually doing a 383 on my 95 lt1 ,but I'm building a house so that has to wait, but I am doing the topend this winter. Is there much difference in power between ported stock heads and the stronger afr heads.
current mod - hurst shifter, corsa catback, edelbrock header, ram air hood
planned mod - afr lt4 195 #1031, comp 1.6 pro mag rocker, hi tech pushrod, lt4 timing set, cam to be determined, edelbrock lt4 intake, holly 58mm throttle body, svo 30lbs injectors
What power would this make? Any other suggestions?

The cam will tell the power tale it will vary bigtime depending on cam.
Also are you auto and what rearend are you going through all these things make a big differance. In a 383 I would do afr 210`s instead of 195`s if it were me and a custom cam or if you are on a lessor budget go with a LE3 from LLoyd Elliot.I hear good things about his work

IMO you are paying too much attention to marketing and ignoring results, you need to rethink things.
I would second the Advanced Induction recommendation, if you really want the AFRs though a friend is considering selling his so he can put Advanced Induction ported stockers on in their place. Then again, that should tell you something.

I just finished up a new engine with AI heads. While I can't speak in terms of track or dyno numbers at the moment, I can speak for their excellent service and high quality product.

I think the jury is still out on the new Eliminator heads. People tend to reference off of AFR's previous LTX heads (which is fine since there isnt any real Eliminator results). I wouldnt sell them short yet.
I would get the AFR's as cast and have LE or AI port them IF you planned on nitrous or boost down the road. If you are going to run just N/A... go with the small combustion chamber ported stock castings and let a reputable porter cut them.

And don't forget to look closley at what you get with each package. For example with AI you get a billet cam, pac 1220 springs, the heads are milled to customer specs along with the intake surface so the head and intake ports line up for no extra charge, consistency of cnc porting, ect. My car should be finished this weekend, then its off to get tuned and then the track.
