LE2 383 dyno numbers!!!

Finally got the new motor on the dyno, this is with a mailorder tune from Ion. 386rwhp 370rwtq, 11.5 AFR. I think with more tuning i can get 400 out of it, my goal for the car was high 11's at 117 or so. Im not too far from it, check sig for track times. By the way these heads were done a year and a half ago, cam too. I hear Lloyd has improved even more, so two thumbs up!!!

Re: LE2 383 dyno numbers!!!

Great Numbers man,
But I think your numbers are a little low (not trying to bash or player hate by no means). Look at my siq and I actually dynoed a tab bit low, but as I've said before, my car has always dynoed a little low. If you have the LE2 H/C package on the 383, I would think you would have 400-410 rwhp/400-410 rwtq and more to be had with tuning from the getgo. Also, I din't see in your sig if you have LTs or some sort of high flowing system. If not, there's the missing 20 rwhp or it just may be the compression since your going to spray later. My LE2 H/C package is a little over a year old and Lloyd is THE MAN!
Like I said, I'm not trying to burst any bubbles, just giving you my honest opinion.

-Tim

Re: LE2 383 dyno numbers!!!

I have pacesetters into a y-pipe and flowmaster 40 series out back. I used to have a flowmaster 4" exhaust but i bent it getting the car on the trailer, so its no more. Do you have track numbers? Dyno was really to get my AFR, numbers are cool too, just not my main intention. I just got a tuning update from Ion so ill be sure to load it up and get it back on the dyno.

Re: LE2 383 dyno numbers!!!

O yea something i didnt think about before, this package he made for me a year ago was designed for a 350, my oil pump blew and i put a 383 in, the cam could be much larger than the one in there now. I have talked to a couple others with LE2 packages that have bigger cams than me... What im saying is if Lloyd and Bret knew this was going into a 383 im sure the heads would be slightly different and the cam would definately be different. Just something to think about.

Re: LE2 383 dyno numbers!!!

If it was designed for a 350 it's more like a LE1 383 cam then. We would have given you more cam for a 383. You should do 400rwhp once that thing gets leaned out some.

Re: LE2 383 dyno numbers!!!

Not to mention i get 20mpg on the highway and around 14 w/ city driving. I still get 12.5 when a few runs at the track are added on.

Re: LE2 383 dyno numbers!!!

Hello,
My track numbers suck big time. My best was a 13.2 @ 113mph. All of my 60ft time was in the 2.3-2.6 range, but all of the runs had 113mph trap speeds. The track was not hooking and the runs were before the STB, Subframes, BFGs, and the new Walbro unit. That why I stated that I wasn't trying to burst anyone's bubble, because I have improvements that I need to make big time.
If you search my screename, I posted the exact track numbers. Not being able to hook just killed me at the track. I had Nitto DRs at the time.
But anyway, I know you will get to that 400 rwhp mark just as the others stated once everything comes together.
Good luck

Tim

Re: LE2 383 dyno numbers!!!

Well your 113 trap speed tells you where the power is. Out of a 6 run night mine will do high 113's like 4 runs then 2 114's or a 115. So it seems like even though the dyno is saying you have more hp, were running the same, except im almost a second faster. Im still on stock gears too. Gears will get you a higher trap b/c your in the powerband, at 114 mph my car is in 4th gear at 5300, hardly where it makes its most power. I believe w/ 4.10s i would pick up another couple mph b/c i would cross the line almost at redline. Im going to send you a PM so we can compare our camshafts, b/c LE2 on your car is probably not the same LE2 as my car.
