LE2 383... Auto. not shifting at WOT

I have recently completed my LE2 383 install. I have a PCMforless tune.

At WOT I am hitting over 6k rpm without a shift... is this normal? Where should my shift point be?

Re: LE2 383... Auto. not shifting at WOT

It's not shifting between any gear, or specifically only one gear?
I'm assuming it shifts just fine if you are not at WOT.

Was the chip installed and run before the LE2 or after? (or at the same time)
And did you have any problems in between?

Was the PCMForless tune custom for the LE2 or one of the generic tunes?
Shift points should have been configured in the tune, did you ask for any
specific point or did you ask him to decide for you?

I bet Alvin or Bryan can look it up for you.

Re: LE2 383... Auto. not shifting at WOT

It shifts fine just cruising. It's not shifting out of first at WOT. The computer was sent out during the engine install, so everything was finished at the same time. I sent Bryan my whole list of mods, so it is a custom tune for my car. I will contact him and get him to look it up for me.

Thanks

Should be shifting around 6500 rpm I imagine....

Could be it's just slipping to the point where it wont' even shift anymore. Stock 4L60E?

Re: LE2 383... Auto. not shifting at WOT

It is the 4L60E. It's got about 30k on the rebuild. It was a stock rebuild except for the TransGo shiftkit and PI 2800. I'm not sure if the TC could be having anything to do with it or not. It was perfect when my TA was a bolt-on + cam car... but now with the new 383 I don't know.

Re: LE2 383... Auto. not shifting at WOT

I may have your answer. When Pcm4less did my tune they set the shift points around 6800. My tach was already off by 200. So when I first installed the tune I swore it wasnt shifting until one day I went ***** to the wall and noticed what was going on. Then i used TC to look over the shift points and noticed it. Just lower your shift points or find out what they were set to.

Re: LE2 383... Auto. not shifting at WOT

I will check my fluid level. Hopefully I will hear from PCMforless tomorrow about my shift point settings.

axehead... I assume you're talking about Extreme Combat. No, I won't be fighting in that show. I will be there. My next fight is supposed to be August 19 at Colosseum Combat for the ISCF national championship, but nothing has been confirmed. I train at SBG of AL in Huntsville, AL. It is off Memorial Pkwy. just North of Max Luther.

Thanks guys

Re: LE2 383... Auto. not shifting at WOT

The computer goes off of MPH and rpm.

One table has MPH vs RPM vs TPS % in each gear, the other table has shift rpm vs mode (normal, kickdown, performance, manual).

Both feilds must be met before a shift, so if the mph is met, but the rpm is not met, it will not shift.

Get ahold of pcm for less he should have a fix for that. there is something in the computer that has to be changed sometimes. Ed wright had to do it to mine. Then it shifted fine.

Re: LE2 383... Auto. not shifting at WOT

This is what Bryan Herter said: "The limiter is at 7200 and the shifts are set to begin at 6200 RPM and thus with a good trans they should be complete by 6500, 6600 at the latest..."

I've been lifting at 7000 with no shift. I haven't bounced off of the limiter yet. What's wierd is that as soon as I lift off the throttle, it shifts. Could this mean that the TPS needs adjustment?

axhead, to answer your question from 10 days ago (sorry), I have run my car at the Hsv dragstrip many times before, but it has been on jackstands for the last 1.5 yrs.
