It would probobly take me 4 or 5 hours, maybe more.

Remove spark plugs
remove intake manifold
remove exhuast manifolds
any emissions control fittings that may come into play
valve covers
remove head bolts
replace gasket
torque down 2 or 3 times
and reinstall all the above

and spark plugs with exhuast manifolds suck from what i hear... I've always had headers so its only 1/2 as terrible for me

I would say any where from 7-10 hours labor if you took it to a mechanic. 4-5 hours is a bit conservative.

hehe,
when i said me- I was thinking back home with my friend, his dad (mechanic) a lift, every tool imaginable and with headers- not manifolds.

10 is a bit too much IMHO,
7 is a nice guess

Well, when you write up an estimate in a business, you use standardized times, like a Chiltons manual for example. So if it is a shop writing up the job, the labor would be around 10 hours.

Also, the first time doing anything is always a little longer - locating things, right tools, etc. I would say first time: 10 hours +, second time 4-5 hours.
