L98 to LT1 swap help
Go to thirdgen.org. They have a complete section on it, and several members that have done the swap, and help with harnesses, and ECMs, fuel lines etc.. Im currently in the middle of buying for my swap, which should happen next year.
Its not as easy as a drop in, but nowhere near as bad as an LS1 swap. PM me if you have more questions.

L98 to LT1 swap
Thanks for the help guys. Will do more searching on 3rdgen.
As for what all is getting swapped, i have the LT1 engine and the computer but thats it.
Will probably purchase the Painless wiring harness due to not being a electronics wizard.
Hope to keep the stock transmission (700r4?)

Let me save you a little trouble now. Ive been buying parts for weeks, and doing alot of research.
700r. It will work, but its a PITA. The kickdown cable wont work with your LT1, and Im sure the speedo wont work like it is either. Again, read over at thirdgen.org. Its better to go with a 4L60E. I bought mine rebuilt from a local shop for $550, with a new stock converter.
Dont waste youre money on a painless kit. Go to thirdgen, and go into the engine swap section. A member named Z28ricer is making a harness for me. Tell him I sent you to him (same user name there also). Mine is still being made, but Ill post pictures when it gets here. Hes also programming an ECM for me.
And your fuel pump will work, for now. If you plan on doing any kind of work, youll need to upgrade.
There are more things to consider. Power steering, A/C location and lines, fuel lines, dual fans if you dont already have them. Read up. And good luck.
