Kooks header question

Can stainless steel headers be ceramic coated? somone told me that you can't.. but I want a second opinion. obviously they wont look the same after coating, but I would prefer to keep temps down.... even with coating my hookers are getting rusty around the collectors after 3 years and ( I HATE RUST )

Re: Kooks header question

You can coat stainless...I had my LPE shorties Jet Hot coated last year, but they faded a bit after a year and only 4000 miles. I have stainless Kooks now and just left them alone. The stainless looks great as it ages. I have never seen coatings last on ANY header and when it goes it looks worse than not having it at all...I know it helps to keep temps down, but you're back to less than square one when the coating comes off anyway...

Re: Kooks header question

Hey Steve,

They fit great. No clearance issues, and they look fantastic. I did have to switch to a PF454 oil filter which is smaller than the 1218 I was running to clear the header tubes. Ground clearance is great, etc, etc...you really get what you pay for. I did have fun finding a -10 AN female to 1/2" male pipe thread adapter for my AIR tubes...was trying to keep the top side emissions compliant for visual in Adams county....
