I would say trans mount is old and mushy if not busted, or if that is intact, panhard bar bushings maybe.

So how hard is that to fix and how much might it cost? I think i read somewhere that its 40 buck to 20 bucks for the part... is that right?

I bought a Poly ES trans mount from Internet Racers Supply for like $25 bucks. It's very easy to install. I did it during a trans swap but yours will be the same way. All you need to do is just get a little floor jack(or even a block of wood or something) and put it up at the rear of the trans to stop it from hanging down when the crossmember is removed. I'm not sure that it hanging would cause any damage anyways but it just made me feel safer. Then there's just 4 bolts holding up the crossmember, two on each side. Take those off and the crossM will come right off. The Trans mount is mounted on that with 4 little bolts I think(can't remember for sure). Take the old one off and put the new one on with all the supplied hardware and reverse all the steps. I don't remember how detailed that info is, but you would have figured out how to do it on your own anywayz. Good luck

If it's not the trans mount, you might want to make sure the spare tire is tightened down properly... mine wasn't when I got the car and it made some similar noise.
