knock sensor desensitising?

DOH! just remembered that i didn't get a LT4 KM for my long tube install, well they are gonna make some noise in the morning. Is there a way to desensitise the knock sensor any? Will it be ok to drive anyway?

You will be fine. It might give you some knock retard but not until higher in the RPMs, depending whether you have stock tuning or not, on stock you can get up to 17* of retard I think, but you wont get that much just from headers. If they arent open you might not even need a KM, do you have rockers too or just headers?

Try goin all the way up the Rs and see if you feel any retard, it will feel like its still accellerating, just not pulling as hard once you get way up, you will know if it does.

Yeah he will most likely set the MAX retard at 5*, thats what Brian sets it at. You will still eventually want one, but headers dont always give false knock, if you have leaks they will though, once rockers are on spend the $30 and pick one up. You will definitely know if you are getting it on a stock tune though
