Knock Module Questions

Ok , I know what the module does.... however I read that if you put longtubes on and they hit the floor of your car that the module may mistake that for knock and start pulling timing. I have a 94 z28 and sometimes my lt's do hit the floor... Would an lt4 knock module solve this problem??

Your car has both a knock sensor (microphone) that screwed into the block and a knock module (filter circuit) that mounts onto the PCM. The knock sensor picks up mechanical noises made by the engine and sends them to the PCM, going through the knock module. The circuit is "listening" for engine knock and can be fooled by mechancial noises like banging headers. The LT4 knock sensor was "tuned" to ignore the valve train noises made by the RR's that came standard on the LT4 engine. Chances are the LT4 knock module won't help you with banging header noises.
