What's the difference between an LT1 and LT4 knock mod.

 

The knock module is a noise filter. The LT4 knock module was specifically tuned to block the noise signature from the Crane Gold roller rockers used in the LT4 engine, to prevent knock retard due to "false" knock.

 

What would happen then if I were to put an LT4 knock module on an 355 Lt1 with ported heads with 1.6 roller rockers? Non crane golds.

 

well, your car will most likely Burst into Flames upon switching to the LT4 knock module...

Most people on this board are running the LT4 knock module with various LT1 setups, it will help the computer filter out noise from a loud exhaust/cutout, headers, roller rockers, etc, etc

My LT headers touch my oil pan. Could LT4 KM filter that? Or thats could be the reason that my knock retard?

 

No KM is going to filter that.

 

Its a simple filter. Its effectiveness on noises it was not designed to filter is debatable. It is not a cure-all for knock problems, false knock problems, banging exhaust systems, etc.

Yes thats an option, but I prefer to solve my problem. Obviously there is a problem and I can't feel comfortable by desensitze it.
