I noticed tonight I had no knock at all, I mean it was beautifull. Even at wot there was no knock. I thought finally the car performance gods heard my prayers. After a long drive I stopped the car. When I restart it I get knock retard as soon as the engine turns over and get constant knock through all the rpm's all the way home. Never went over 3 degrees but just thought it was odd that one second all is perfect and next minute Im getting knock.

 

figure it out and let me know... mine is jumping to 9.5 ...and the other times...nothing for miles on end

 

Many things can play a factor in sensing knock retard, not the least of which is humidity (amount of H20 vapor in air). Could be an exhaust leak that results from the cooling of the engine, could be octane quality.

 

Good point. I see the most constant knock during the hot days. Tonight was really cool. It's still wierd though that during the same night all can be well then upon shutting down the car and restarting it I get knock
