Knife Edging the Crank ????

Somebody brought this up to me, I was just curiouse if it was at all effective? Or will it work with an LT1? Thanks.

It is very effective. Unless ya are trying for every last ounce of HP and are making over 400FWHP I don't think it would be cost effective as ya would need a balance job on top of the machine work and it may take heavy metal to do it at $50.00 a slug.
Ya can see as much as 12FWHP with most all the oil control tricks in play,not just knife edgeing.

What exactly is knife edging & what kind of oil tricks are there (coatings)?

Knife edge is pointing the leading edge of the crank and narrowing the trailing edge.
There are a book full of oil control tricks,to much for me to type.

If you get light enough parts (rods and pistons) you don't have to heavy metal it.
