If you need an emissions cam, LE can hook you up. Still get the stage 2 heads, like mentioned in my last reply. This set-up will drive like your looking for, damn near factory. Add all the other goodies and you'll be set.

Im not looking to be too terribly fast. To my knowledge the vert weighs in at about 100 lbs more. Not too terribly bad. The LE2 is beyond my price range. It is almost 2 times more. I know the LE2 is more capable but im kinda trying to figure out what all the fuss is over the LE2.. Is it THAT much better? Remember im just trying to be a little faster. Right now im probably putting 240-250 to the wheels now... If i could jump to 350-370 then thats a pretty nice step. Im not trying to be the fastest car in the world here. I just want to be able to go a bit faster. High 12's-low 13's. Remember im in the army. I dont get payed a lot.. Plus my wife is having a cow over this as it is
Thanks for the information about WOT in OD. I had no idea of this. So just shift into drive when i wanna play like that huh?
I want a new stall converter but the issue im running into is this: If the trans goes bad, then usually so does the torque converter. Also i dont want the additional stress being put on the trans, and i dont want the engine to work harder to get the car moving. Longevity is a deal for me.... If this was any other Camaro, id be fine but this car is my baby. My first car. Im selling my other one so i dont have the option to put this in my 97. Thanks david, and z-rated

If you're selling the other one, swap the 4L60E's.. there's a few tricks to getting a 97 trans into a 94, but it'd be well worth it since you already have both transmissions anyways. Talk to Frank.

Then you can get a converter. A converter is a must with almost any cam.

Wow okay. THANK YOU! I was under the impression that a 97 trans could not be put on a 94 at all. I will get on that! That is so awesome because i have a new Vig 3200 stall on the 97 aswel. Thanks bud! WELL if i can do this, then i might just be able to look at the LE2 heads like everyone keeps saying because i wont have to do a trans build! I just found out that when my unit gets back, we will get a nice bit of down time since we are the #1 most deployed, and now this! What a great day!

After reading this, I feel like you should trade you car for a stock LS1 and put an air lid on it. You want to run low 13's or high 12's and you are afraid to have the car act like anything but stock. I don't mean this to be abrasive but I feel that this is your best bet.

Thanks for the advice, but the 94 is my first car. Its my baby. One day when im older, and these cars are classics, ill return it to the factory build. Ive always wanted an LS1 WS.6 but im happy with what i have. The LT1 can do it... Plus it now appears that i can use my brand new CPT tranny on my 94.. So i might be interested in hearing about these LE2 heads since i wont have to worry about, paying to have the factory one built, or having it break on me

I'm pretty sure youv'e checked out my sig. I may not have the greatest times, but there not bad. 11.90s with a cam about the size you need to pass emissions and a set of LE heads. Granted you have to add some other stuff, but you can do it a little bit at a time. That's what I did. Just turned over 30k, on my 94.

Yup Javier you are correct. You have to go into the trans to make it work, just into the valvebody area.

I know you need a different wiring harness for the shift solenoids, a different 3-2 downshift solenoid and the seperator plate(I think). I had to do the same thing.

Get ahold of Frank@CPT he will hook you up.

LE2 heads and LE1.5 cam would be a great idea

Love the power and eay driveability. No regrets.

My 10 bolt rear end is not quite so fond of the power , but I am working on kicking his *** to the curb.

yeah.. the LE2 and LE1.5 cam sound like a pretty powerful combo. However something im not willing to have is 10 bolt problems. I see that wrd1972 has an M6 with 4.10s so like everyone said thats probably not helping the issue. I know theres stuff i can do to strengthen the 10 bolt and all. Have you done this already wrd? Also is this an emissions friendly heads and cam package? Ill have to look into the pricing for this. Keep in mind my wheels.. They are SS 10 spokes.. 275's all around. Im sure ill end up with a major traction issue if im putting too much power down. I like these wheels a lot. I could get some AFS ZO6 wheels 315 in the rear but id rather not. Im pretty happy with the wheels i got now...

If you want a relatively smooth idle, good power, good fuel economy and an all around sleeper you may want to consider Lingenfelter heads and 211/219 cam. I didn't have an auto, but w/ emissoins equipment all in tact using Edelbrock 1 5/8" shorties though stock y-pipe including cats my car made 350/350 on the dyno and ran 12.5 to 12.6's @ 110mph on a 3750 race weight w/ steel wheels and BFG Drag radials:

That was on 4:10 gears as well. When I installed Hooker LT's w/ ORY it ran 12.2's @ 114mph. Put 3.73 gears in and ran 12.0 @ 115.5 for a best and consistent 12.1's @ high 114 to 115mph. This of course was always in good racing weather. During miserable days it would run 12.2's @ 113 to 114. Would always get low 20's around the city and high 20's on the freeway. Very driveable. Here's a dynograph after the LT's/ORY were installed. It was real nice to have instant torque wherever in the RPM band:

Here's the best slip for this combo (right lane):

P.S. Thanks for serving.
