Actually, the front end of LT engines are internally balanced, therefore LT engines use a "damper" and not a balancer.

Also, the hub doen't have to be keyed on an LT1, however, it makes sure you keep your mechanical timing reference correct (hub can't slip).

Here is a photo of the Jeg's LT1 damper (under-drive), however, you can't see the hub. Both are very high quality items and SFI approved.

Okay... thats very nice but nobody has a part number for anything. I just need a keyed hub. As stated before Thunderracing isn't an option so please guide me somewhere else. With a part number please.

Everyone has provided you several very good options for a keyed hub. For example; I recommended the keyed Jeg's hub which is a very good item (call Jeg's or look in their catalog). Therefore, I'm not sure why you're still not able to choose a hub???

Thanks but your hub says that its off of a 95. I have a 97 and I can only use the 96 or 97 hubs. As far as what "THE ENGINEER" says. I did call Jeg's and they don't have any in stock just like everyone else. The ship date for it would be May 4th. Sorry man but I can't wait that long.

Just take your hub to any compitent machine shop(doesn't have to be an automotive machine shop either) and have them put a keyway in it for you. I'd do it for you at my shop if i had the time.

If you're going to whine about the answers given then seek info elsewhere. Why do you feel you need a keyed hub? Because you feel it would be cool to say you have one? I have not yet found one reason why your engine would require one.

The information I was refering to in my so called "whine" is that I don't need a hub from a 95 cause it won't fit. My sig states that I have a 97. Secondly a 396cid expecting to make around 530hp at the crank will likely require a keyed hub. Thank you for telling me that its gonna be a cool part to have because I wouldn't want a hub that isn't cool. Im done with this thread. Thanks anyway guys.

Next time you should address your whine more specifically.

Can you explain why instead of the "just cuz" response?

F'ing A man...I appreciate you started this thread; as a latent effect I have (most likely) solved my key'd hub woes.

You had half a dozen people go out of their way in an attempt to help you with your problem.

As far as needing a key'd hub, I'll soon have a small parasitic draw called a T-trim...otherwise I wouldn't be bothering with this.

unless your running a supercharger off the front there is no need for a keyed hub.

Guys. I know your probably all hating me right now and im gonna make it worst. It turns out that the ATI super damper I bought last month has the keyed hub already attached to it. I never really looked at it until today when I called ATI. I gave them the part number of the balancer I bought and they told me the hub should already be bolted to it. I openned the box and a hub suddenly appeared. I am so sorry and embarraced. I really appreciate the help even though I was being a dick. Thanks Guys
