Thumbs up Key FOB

I rarely ask questions here, but I can't think of a better place to post this to...

I just bought a wrecked 98Z and I'm parting it out. What I'm wondering is if I can use the keyFOB for the 98 with my older 95Z. I know there is a proceedure for resyncing the KeyFOB to the computer, but I don't know if the new ones will sync up to an older PCM.

Just wondering..

Thanks in advance..

I was thinking about putting a keyless system in my 95. So when I was looking for the parts I figured out that the fcc numbers on fobs and keyless entry module in the car have to match (except for the last digit which is r=receiver or t=trasmission). But I don't think the numbers are the same. To verify hop on ebay and search for the fob or receivers. Most of them explain which type of car they are from. If the 95 fcc number matches the 98 then your good. If not, then it won't work.

Thanks for the info. My stocker has an 02T, and the new one has an 05T, so I suppose other than swapping out the recievers, I'm stuck. I suppose I'll see what would be involved in that part now.

Thanks again..
