K&N vs SLP?

I'm looking at getting a CAI for my 97' Z28 and am wondering if there are any discernible differences between the SLP and K&N setups (other than price). Thanks

if you have the ASR button in your car along with traction control, the K&N kit won't fit. I had to bend the metal brake lines to make mine fit. the K&N tube is plastic.

The SLP is metal but has a smaller diameter. I would believe that the K&N might offer better air flow.

I would go with the morosso CAI kit if you have traction control. it is similar to they K&N tube but you don't need to modify the brake lines.

I can send you pictures of my K&N modification if needed.

I have a lightly used Moroso CAI for sale that was on my '97 Z for less than 5,000 miles, and fit perfectly with NO brake line modifications. PM me if you're interested in it.

Re: K&N vs SLP?

Thanks for the help. Mine doesn't have the traction control so I think I'll go with the K&N.

Re: K&N vs SLP?

I've ran LPE, SLP, K&N, Moroso, and the LS1 lid and the best stardard one is Lingenfelter, then Moroso. I hated the SLP, just a pain to remove and reinstall and get to the filters. Lingenfelter is $160, hard to beat, great performance, lightweight, priced well, great media quality, largest media area, etc. K&N is extra money for the name. Lid would be the best, but for many builds it's just not worth the work and investment.
