Just some general GM 847 ???'s

I thinking about doing a rebuild and heads and cam over the winter early springish. Anyway I wanna go with the GM 847. What would be the best options as far as heads? Get my stock LT1 heads done or a set of aftermarket heads. I'd rather not go for aftermarket heads if I can make good power with work LT1 heads.

Another question. I've seen that with the 847 you need to spin it up to about 6500 rpm or so. Will the stock LT1 crank shaft handle that on a pretty consistant basis or should I look at a Lunati crank or other crank of some sort?

Well any informantion is appreciated and anything else anybody would like to let me know about all this will be appreciated too.

If you are doing heads, just get a cam thats matched to those heads. And I'm reving to 6500 on a heads/cam/150 shot car on the stock bottom end and it hasn't blown up yet *knocking on wood*.

The stock bottom end will be fine. The 847 cam is a great choice to make good power. Keep the rebuild cheap. I have seen people go all out and loose interest 3/4 of the way through??? Such a waste of $.
Good luck and enjoy!
