just got my ss hood on

i just got my hood put on my 95 m6 z today...anyone else running functional ss hoods?.. i knew the car would make more power, but it is a considerable amount faster with the functional scoop...before it was the factory elbow with a cone type filter on it...kinda like a cold air, but not aftermarket...just wondering what others results are...i like it

when i first got the car if i would just punch it from idle it would just take off, no wheel spin. but when i put the hood on and the airbox it would spin a good 2,2.5 secs just stomping it off idle so there has to be some kinda gain. No K&N either, just the crappy paper filter. What brand hood is it? Suncoast? how do u like the fit?

my airbox has a k&n...i dont know who makes the hood...got it off ebay...here is a link to the auction though, mabye you could tell me...the back of the hood sits about a half inch too high...but i think i will be able to fix that...im pretty satisfied with the fit...much better than some other aftermarket hoods ive seen...here is the link

it doesnt say who the maker of the hood is, but as long as your happy then its all good, BTW you know that hood isnt functional, you have to gut the inside of the hood scoop to make it work, if you have ram air that is

Thumbs up

very nice. Let see some pics. I use to have the standard SS intake but I noticed more difference with the SLP CAI than the standard SS intake. Although, keep in mind that the ram air effect doesn't come into play until you get some speed going

From what I read, the WS6 intake set up is the best out there in terms of hp gain, followed by SLP CAI, then the SS hood. It looks good, but the prcie doesn't justify the hp gains. I will prolly get a SS hood, but I will prolly just get it for looks, and engine cooling, I will be going CAI most likely.

if you don't have the standard SS air box, think of the hood as an intercooler since it's blowing cold air on the intake

i have already cut open the hood, and you can hear it sucking in air from the outside of the car...its cool...i wasnt going to get the hood because of the money, but then my friend wrecked his 94 z, and needed a hood for cheap to keep it from being totaled so im selling him my old hood, and then had an excuse to buy the ss hood..how do i post pics?

I don't think you can attach pics on here unless you have the pic hosted somewhere else
