Just got my SLP Clutch & PP...

Looks like I'm gonna spend a week or two getting used to this lol.. I stalled a couple times just backing up from the mechanic and once or twice on the way home getting into first.. I also overcompensated and peeled out once.. The old one was in real bad shape, slipped all the time and I was letting it almost all the way off the floor before it started to engage.. This one engages right off the floor, and it grabs FAST...

All this will be good once I'm used to it, but right now I look like a complete idiot when I'm driving it.. Just gotta keep reminding myself, more gas quicker when I'm taking off.. And let the clutch off REALLY slow.. But I have to say, this clutch seems like it's gonna grab extremely well once I get used to it.. So hopefully in a little time I'll be completely happy with it..

That's good to hear. That's what i plan on using when i do my 6 speed swap. Did you keep your stock flywheel, or did you switch to the SLP Billet flywheel?

I had the stock flywheel resurfaced.. I was replacing the clutch out of necessity and just decided to upgrade, but I didn't have the extra cash to get the flywheel replaced so I went with the $55 resurfacing...

If you're doing it mainly for performance and not necessity though, the flywheel saves 7 pounds over stock and it should rev quicker too...

I've had the SLP lt weight FW and PP for several years. They are nice products. Due to a leaky seal my SLP clutch got oiled and I swapped it for a McLeod. The McLoed disk is much stouter. The SLP clutch disk is fine, but almost identical to the oem, which is not bad. The billet FW is really nice and takes a little time to get used to from a start.

Glad to hear it worked out for you. My stock clutch is as bad as yours was. I damn near let it all the way out before it engages not to mention it slips like no other. I have an SLP ready to go in in the next month or so. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the install run you? You mentioned $55 for the flywheel resurface. What about the install? I'm going to start pricing here in a week or two and I would like to know a ball park number to look for. Thanks

Mine was also that bad to where the pedal was up all the way before it caught, I stalled leaving the garage of the mechanics as well. Its a good clutch, i like mine so far, I got the slp disk and pp and had my stocker resurfacef. I paid 240 for the clutch installed incluing the resurface..

How much did they take off the flywheel? Did they compensate for it by shimming it?? Any problems with it not disengaging all the way?

It cost about 375 for the clutch installation I think.. I know my total bill was 513, but that included the resurfacing and 75 bucks to track down an SES light (turned out to be a blown fuse).. So around 375 for the clutch installation. I'm getting used to it more today, I think I might have it within another day or two..

I'm with you! I'm about to do a T56 swap as well and was still looking around at clutches, clutch disks, pressure plates and flywheels...what are you going to be using in your T56?
