Just got my Qtp E-cutout in!

First off, I just wanted to say this thing is great! Definatly worth the money in my opinion. It comes with all the gaskets and hardware neccasary to install it properly. Plus, they sent me a blockoff plate included in the kit incase for some reason I'd like to remove it, very nice touch. The wiring is perfect for almost any install and the quick disconnect fitting make for a very easy install/removale. Now I just can't wait to have this welded to y-pipe and test it out. So far though, I'm very happy.

Now to my real question, for those of you that have it installed already, how is the ground clearance? I noticed that by just mocking it up in my head, it seems it may hang a little low... I'm not sure yet though since I don't even have the y-pipe in my car yet. Does it hang any lower than your guys long-tubes? Btw, I have Pacesetters so anyone with those and a QTP E-cutout, please chime in here, I'd really like to know. Pictures would be great also. Thanks

Ground clearance will depend on where and at what angle the cutout is angled.

Mine is installed parallel to my exhaust so there is no clearance issues. The motor does suck though and after having mine for about 5 months It won't close now all the way.

I have one installed on my Borla. I'd suggest putting a bead of sealent around the edge of the butterfly valve to reduce leaks/rattling when closed. When mine is closed there is still some exhaust leak and rattling at times. Usually I just tap the switch a couple times and that'll quiet it down....

That said...I love it!! It's survived 2 Jersey winters so far....

As you can see I was able to get mine in fairly level and up out of the way. I would secure the wire under the car with at least one clamp.

Heres a tip on routing the wire if you havent done so already: if you pull up the carpet on the passenger side there should be a rubber plug that you can run the wire through. Then run the wire up underneath the dash, and if you remove the panel below the glovebox you can coil up the slack of the wire and it will set right in there, then put the panel back up, it worked great for me.

Have you figured out where you are going to put your switch? If not, I suggest here:

I spliced power from the cigarette lighter to power the cutout, it never blew the fuse.

How long are the bolts on your cutout? Mine were way too short and I had to grind the welds off and put my own bolts in, have they fixed this since I got mine? (1.5-2 years ago) later!

Jeremy
