just got my favorite exhaust!!!
just got my favorite exhaust!!!
ok this is my 3rd lt1 camaro a 94 a 93 and now another 94 auto.
my first camaro came with a flowmaster and gutted cat (sounded real good)
I then put a cutout on right before the axle with a bullet in front (sounded real real good.
next camaro was stock so I went got a 40 series flow with one in and one out and had the muffler guy cut out the round plate that says inlet to make it an out for the right tail pipe making one side kinda open. with stock cat.
Now I went today and got the same thing on my new camaro but the previous owners put new tail pipes on with some different tips and they put a new cat on it and this sounds the best IMO real real real good, it actually sounds way different than my second car I guess the tips do it or the aftermarket cat.
this is the perfect sound for your lt1 and it only cost $100

Re: just got my favorite exhaust!!!
Flowmasters without cats do sound pretty good on LT1's. Got a friend who's running the setup right now with shorties. But the ultimate sound and power is true duals dumped at the axle. Zero rasp, very deep big blockish sound, and fairly cheap.

yes that would be the best exhaust if you had headers, im talkin like for a stockish lt1
I did test drive a 96 lt1 back in the day that sounded like crap but I think it had the quiet plates in it.
I dont know why a bunch of people hate on flowmasters. they are cheap and have a one of a kind sound in an lt1.
