Just got a catback.... is a cutout worth while?
I just installed a Magnaflow catback to my car. I love the sound new and can't wait till it gets broken in! Anywho I was tossing around the idea of installing an electric cutout. Is it a worthwhile investment? Is it hard to install? Thanks for your help and suggestions!

I was doing the electric/manual cutout decesion awhile ago. I went with the manual because I knew it would always be open and was cheaper. They give you like 8-10 RWHP or so, and they're cheap (manual) so I figured why not?
Unfortunatly the local track won't allow them to be open on street night

i had the magnaflow on my 96z, and i had a cutout installed as well. the magnaflow was a very hi flow muffler, and i noticed only a slight increase in top end with the cutout open. i would say that it's not worth the $$ to put an electric cutout on. but i would say it's worth it to spend the $50 (includes install) on a manual cutout...if nothing else it sounds badazz!
i have a magnaflow, and i just did the qtec electric cutout.
never realized how quiet the magnaflow was! lol
i noticed a big HP increase in the higher RPM's but a loss of low end torque due to majorly decreased backpressure
