Just got back from the track. Is this a good time for my car.

I have a 1994 Pontiac firebird formula A4 2.73 geared car. I just got back from the track. I made one pass down the 1/4 track and my time was a 14.29et. My mph was 98.68 and 60ft. time was 2.157. It was very hot at the track. The temp was 89 degrees. I live in South Ga. where it is hot in the summer. I only had a little wheel spin on street tires. I have only a few bolt on parts. They are a SLP CAI, Borla 2 3/4 Y pipe on stock exh. manifolds, Hooker Aerochamber exhaust, TPIS air foil, 3in. off road pipe in place of cat, and the tb coolant bypass. Is this time ok for my mods and the track conditions. I plan on having 3.42 gears installed plus a performance tune by PCM for less with a cooler thermostat. How much else is needed to break into the 13's in the 1/4. My 1/8 mile time was 9.295 at 77.40 mph. Thanks

id say thats pretty good for a auto 2.73 car. in my 93 6 speed i was able to pull a 14.1 at 99 with a 2.2 60' with pretty similar mods. i think a torque converter and soem 3.73s or even 3.42s would do justice, but that will be a huge difference. good luck.

My first time out... I ran on street tires also... bone stock 97LT1 w/ 140K miles. 3.23's in the rear. Ran a 13.821 @ 99.94mph w/ a 2.004 60ft. I was SO close to breaking the 2 mark on the 60.

Even for a 2.73 geared car I think your MPH is a little low. I'd think you would break 100MPH by the 1/4 mile mark.

Not bad at all for a hot day at the track. I'd say it's right on.

In Florida my MPH varies 3-4 mph depending on the weather.

I would say you did pretty well. Pick a better day and see what it can do.
