Just got a 94 LT1 Corvette engine

Title says it all. The engine is complete w/ all accessories but has been sitting for 3 years covered. I dig it being a 4 bolt main block.I'm going to rebuild it so it has some SNAP but nothing radical. Will the exhaust shorties work in the camaro? I know everyone is going to tell me to go with LT's. What ever doesn't work with the SS will probably end up on eBay. Naturally I will give everyone here first crack at it. Any input is greatly appreciated.

You'll need to swap your timing cover, reluctor gear and shorter crank hub from your 97 onto your 94 motor to make it play, along with the knock sensor. There will be other differences with the location of the accessories.

What are the differences in comparison to the LT1 that went in the Camaros?

Tearing Down

I'm getting ready to dissasemble the engine. What is the difference in a 94 block & a 97? I've decided to go the 383 stroker route. So much for being mellow.

no difference between a 94 block and a 97 block, except the 94 vette block is a 4 bolt main, 97 vettes had an ls1

Don't know the answer to your question but I can tell you that the headers for the Vette seem to be more expensive. This is probably dut to the fittment in the car. There are also fewer choices I guess due to lower production numbers. Some companies that make headers for the Vette are Exotic Muscle, Stainless Works, Melrose, and TPIS. My ceramic coated long tubes from EM came to about $1100 not including labor. Being that this is going in a Camaro I'm not sure what you would use. Check out the C4 section of the corvetteforum.

As for the headers, it's highly unlikely. The engine bay of the Corvette is completely different then the Camaro.
Look on Summit or Jegs, at the headers and see how many fit multiple models.

You'll probably want to switch the fuel rails because 94 vettes come out on the passanger side and camaros hookup to fuel lines on driver side. The accesory brackets will also have to be switched to you camaro setup, as preveously mentioned.

You'll want to reuse your front timing cover, opti, and fuel rails off your Camaro. I also am really really sure the exhaust off the vette isn't going to work as well. Make sure when you get a cam you get one for a 95+ car not an early car.

Being that it is a 4 bolt main could be reved a little higher with not as much concern? Been thinking of doing heads and cam. Where would you limit it to be safe? Not to steal the thread but it's not everyday I find someone on here with the Vette version of the motor.

Thanks
