Jethot LTs too close to tranny brace

I recently got my car out of storage and am looking to get rid of my terrible Y-pipe that I've been running for years. The problem is my drivers side header is so close to the under body of the car (where the transmission brace comes across) that a Y-pipe needs to drop down about an inch within an inch of connecting to the header.

Has anyone else had this problem? is it safe to just try to bend the header down? I'm afraid to try something like that.

The car has new poly motor mounts so its not like the front of the engine is sagging and making the headers sit up higher.

My headers were the same, extremely close to the floor of the car, we had to weld in a peice of 2.5 pipe angled downward, looks bad but we had to for my TD's.

My jet-hot lts do the same. I had to get the shop that fabbed me up a y pipe to crimp the top side of the y pipe flat so it would fit. I'm thinking about getting some kooks when I pull the heads this winter.

When I bought my Pacesetter LT's they came with a y-pipe and it was already crimped at exactly the right point.

This is not what I need to read now that I'm finally putting my Jethot headers in. Although I'm going to probably need a custom y-pipe since it's going to an SLP 3" exhaust so I'm not going to panic yet...

I ended up cutting my transmission crossmember ever so slightly to clearance the headers. Took about 15 minutes with an angle grinder.

I've since ditched the Jet Hots for LPPs though.

Are lpps pretty good then? I"ve seen a lot of people switching to them. I just figured they are a cheap ebay knockoff. Maybe not after all?

eBay knock-offs = LPPs. They are the same thing.

I have a set of the first batch of LPPs before they were eBay knock-offs. Alot of people complained about the fitment, but mine went in with no problems whatsoever with my 383 build.
