Talking Jet Hot LTs and custom Y-Pipe are done!! Pics if you want em!

It was long and dificult at times, but well worth it.

I had a Y-Pipe made and I need to stay emmissions legal, so I had a high flow cat put on.

Here are the pics of the headers, Y-pipe, and the ground clearance.

Ground clearance looks pretty good.

I think some heat protection for the fuel pipes under the car would be a good idea.

WOW! Those look great, would you say ground clearance is pretty much close to stock? How do you think it would fare on a car lowered about an 1 1/2"? Do they have the emmisions hookups on them? Thanks.

Ground clearance looks pretty damn good on a non-lowered car! From the looks of the pics the cat seems kinda far back...are you going to have any problems getting that cat hot enough?

Yeah, I took the pics when it was on the lift for the heat shield wrap to be put on.

The ground clearance was lowered a little bit, probably like 1". From the ground to the bottom of the passenger side header (lowest one) I have just barely under 5". I'd say lowering the car would be very close, but if you drive diagonally over speed bumps and driveways, going really slow, you could probably pull it off. Yes, mine do have the emmissions hookups.

Yeah, I was worried a little about that, but the exhaust shop said it should be ok. We'll have to see if I have to replace it in a few years.

Definately, best I've seen as far as LT cars go.

However I wouldn't mind seeing a closer pic (from the side, car on ground) of the driver side right as it passes under where the tranny crossmember bolts up. That was always the problem area on my car.

Wow, those headers rock!
Where can I buy them online? I tried their site, but didn't found them...

Just call their phone number at jet hot to pick up some of the headers.. They might be out of them for now though. I know they only had a couple Non EGR ones available when i ordered. But they still had a plenty of ones with EGR.

What exhaust are you guys running? Any borla Exhaust guys?
Ive been told by one member that borla without cats is loud as hell even with closing the passenger side exhaust exit completely off thereby sending all the exhaust through the mufller going to the drivers side exit.

Right now i have the Y pipe off and trying to get it into an exhaust shop.
When i start that car it sounds like God is about to inflict Armageddon.

What size pipe did they use on your Y, it doesn't look like a true 3"?

The install looks nice, very clean!

What size/brand of cat are you using? I've been able to find 14" cats from CatCo, do they even make 12" ones? I'm looking for the smallest ones possible so I can attempt to tuck 2 of them under there and still retain as much ground clearance as possible, I'd like for the flanges on the LT's to be the lowest point.

Heres how i did my twin cats with longtubes. The collectors were lower than the cats.

I really suggest against going with cats however unless it is necessary for you to b/c of emissions. The heat from them helped lead to an early (read under 6 months) demise to my pretty ceramic coating on the headers, and the car WILL NOT be loud. It is quieter than with just a cat back.

I used the Y to pass emissions, and thats it. I sold it and opted for a catless Y.

I installed my JET HOT LT's last week however the car is still not drivable( i have the intake off and such for some other stuff) but anyways. I was looking at the driver's side flange and it actually looks TOO high. Seems like after a few inches from the flange when there's like a 1" drop for the transmission support thingy my xpipe will undoubtedly hit it. In your first pic of the Ypipe it would be the lower one. Now i have one guy telling me we'll have to heat the header and bend it, which i really, really dont want to do(this cause damage right?). My idea is do we just put a dent in the x-pipe to accomodate for this...from the pics it does kinda seem like you bent it a little, am i right?..what do i do?..thanks Tony
