To put it this way. Its not as good as they put it out to be. Ive have had my Hooker LT's for about 1 year or so and up top on the primaries there fine with no discolor. Once you start getting to the bottom though there starting to get a rust color on the coating and some small pieces are starting to raise as if they will peel before long. I heard you can send them back in and have them recoated but I dont see a LT install just a quick fun job. Especially just to be sending the ones off your car to have them recoated.

id think any longtube no matter what the coating on them would start to show wear and tear near the collector becuase of all the road debris hitting it all the time.

Thats true. I can notice on mine where small rocks or debri has hit but not actually chip it yet. Even sand alone would probably blast it just enough to make a light color of rust on the bottom. They hang pretty low anyway. Like you said its probably any coating on a Longtube header.
