Jet Hot LT's ???

I just got my Jet Hot LT's in the mail today. I wanted to open them and check em' out and I noticed that the driver side header is in two pieces??? I never heard anyone saying they had to weld on of the header pipes on. It's the first pipe coming off the motor on the driver side (from the front). I got the header out of the package and I thought I was sent lt's for a 6 cylinder!! WTF!! Did I get get the wrong headers?

No that is the way its supposed to be. It will just 'slip' into the rest of the header and should seal by itself. No welding or anything involved here You may need to sand down the small piece a little to get it in tho.

Thats how it is supposed to be.. it's the slip fit tube to make installation easier if I'm not mistaken... I don't know if you hae to weld it or not.. never heard of that.. someone else should be able to answer this better than me. I haevn't order my Jet-Hot LT yet...

EDIT: Damn! I typed this in like 30 seconds and there we no replies! Talk about service

Damn, you guys work quick!! So, it's supposed to be like that? When I install them, just slip it in and torque it to the head and it will seal itself? I was getting ready to be angry.

Thanks,
Benji

Its so you won't have to take out the steering linkage on the install.

i do believe its cause the way you have to feed them in from the bottom you wouldnt have enough room if it was attached. I have these and i had to sand mine down a tad to get it to fit. its all good dont worry.

Actually its a cavalry horn that you blow before you head down the track

Just joking, but I didnt have to sand any of the sets I've installed on me and my freinds cars. We also just for the sake of being **** added some high temp silicone to the slip tube to help it seal better, but we did the first set without this and it never leaked there.

I just used some wd-40 or something to help them slip together , it doesnt leak and it took about 30 sec to put that drivers side in , i kinda wish they could have done something like that for the pass side too

HAHAHAHA YEA RIGHT!! This is an ongoing argument.. Some pass side is easier some the oposite. On the 94 TA I did, took 30 seconds to get the pass in and about 8hrs to get the drivers side in. Depends on the car, some its 30 secs both sides..
