My car has 78,000 miles on it and as far as i know...the 02s are original. Could this by why my car is running rich? I had my car programmed but i wonder if my possible bad sensors are making my program not work to its full potential.....My car smells horrible rich but runs great still........any input???????

 

My vote for new O2. You'd be suprised at how any car responds when they need 'em until you do it.

 

how do you know when u need new o2 i have 84000 and i never changed mine

 

whats ur mileage? i get 200 a tank, and ppl told me its the o2s (front header ones) for sure, so i ordered me a pair from rockauto.com for 36 bux each (oem replacement, i dont recc bosch)

ur o2s (front again) setup ur a/f ratio, so most likely, u are running rich, because of bad o2s...

I think O2 are supposed to be done every 30,000 miles or maybe it's 50,000. Any way it should be changed when the book says so. 200 miles/tank !!! I get around 300/tank or more if I take it easy. And yep a lot of people say don't go with bosch (including a freind of mine who works there) but that's what I bought anyway. No problem. My mileage went up and the car stopped runniny pig rich.

 

well, go to www.rockauto.com and get the acdelcos for 36 bux each... and get either o2 sims for the back, or OBDI programming, and remove the o2s for the back...

trust me, if youre running rich, and there is nothing you can do to fix it, o2s are kinda it... also it'll make ur car run really well...

i know from RC cars that if you get ur car to run rich, u'll loose mph from topspeed

That sucks.....I just ordered a Bosch off of ebay for like 35.00. I wish i would have know that they suck? What is it that is so bad about them? Or is it just rumor?

 

107,000 on the clock now.Dealer had her in and said they were fine,Problably need a blow torch to gettem out now.Could be other issues.My02

 

its not a rumor, but just what i hear from ppl that use it...

bosch was the 1st company that made effective o2 sensors i think, yet they're the only ones who cant get it right...

they have some expensive ones that are good, but i'm talking 100+ each (something i cant afford...)

oem replacements are real good...

 

O well. Too late now. I already have one of them on the way. Im gunna buy the other one from auto zone for like 51.00. I hope they last awhile.

i heard after 2 months, they crap out BUT i also heard they are so much better than oem...

u'll just have to see but o2s are one of the most crucial things for a fuel injected car

 

I have Bosch O2's. Haven't had a problem with them. They might work for you.

 

It's about time. They don't last forever. They lose effectiveness very slowly, so it is hard to tell when it's time for new ones.

 

I just went out to www.RockAuto.com and found AC Delco part #AFS75 for $36.89. Can this sensor be used in all 4 locations?

Some of the sensors listed on that site state "upstream sensor" and sopme state "downstream sensor", but the AFS75 doesn't say either.

Also, if only the front sensors are used to calculate the A/F ratio, what are the rears used for?
