besides the heads any diff from the version in the camaro or trans am

The cam is also slightly different... I dont have the specs handy... but it's a very minor differece.

is the compression the same.... the head and cam are geting changed

The Cr is slightly lower with the iron head LT1's but that is due to the iron heads having larger combustion chambers... not the pistons. Also of note the iron head engines use a thinner head gasket.
