Is this intake ported? (pic)

http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2005-...64/intake4.jpg

Yes, no, maybe? I paid the mechanic 250 and told him to port match the intake to the heads. Whats funny is he said after he got it back from the machine shop, he cleaned it up with a file. HAHA he had to clean up the machine shops work. Is that some bs or what? Does that explain those scratches on the outside of the port? My engine builder took one look at it and said it was not ported it was definately stock.

The picture I have is much better but I had to shrink the resolution to post it on village photos. Maybe someone could host it for me?

Yep its the same consistancy throughout the whole thing. It definelty wasnt cnc'd cuz theres no lines. Wouldnt it be alot more obvious that it was ported if the machine shop used some other type of porting? I'm trying to convince the shop owner that his mechanic never took this to a machine shop, and is lying about the whole thing. The shop owner is my friends dad.

That is not ported. You can still see the gasket marking on the surface and the casting roughness on the inside. If it were "port matched" it would be smooth and ported out to where the intake gasket left markings.

For reference a ported intake runner will look like this:

It's not ported, its cast. Porting makes the metal a lot smoother and makes the ports kind of shiney, depending if they polished it or not, but they usually don't.

afr says this
Important: Do not port match your intake manifold to these below gaskets, as they do not exactly fit AFR heads

So i told him to port match the intake to the heads like your supposed to right? Either way there was nothing done to it clearly. Perhaps he brought the head in to be port matched and they messed up and ported the heads instead. In that case he's stupid for not knowing what a port job looks like. I think hes lying
