intake manifold

I was told that there is a camshaft position sensor located inside the intake manifold on a 95 lt1 motor...if this is true could that be the reason why its not starting considering that i did rotate the engine while it was off

the cam position is referenced by the optical sensor in the distributer. Hense the name "opti spark". There is no such thing as a cam sensor in or under teh intake manifold.

96-97 use a cam position sensor, but it is only for misfire detection. It is in the timing cover.
