Intake leak affect gas mileage?

Intake leak affect gas mileage?

Just wondering if having an intake leak will it affect gas mileage and/or performance?

you mean the intake manifold oil leak? never heard anyone saying they gained anything from fixing the leak, except that they don't leak any oil anymore....

intake manifold or cold air intake? like the rubber bellow that connects to the TB? cuz that will definately affect it, an let un filtered air into the motor = not good

If the manifold is leaking then the car could be losing vacuum, which would affect brakes and gas mileage, as well as power to some extent.

it is the intake manifold leak. i've been getting ****ty gas mileage so i thought maybe this was the cause. other than that the car runs, starts, and hauls *** just fine. just getting ****ty gas mileage like 160 miles per 13 gallons. thanks for the info!!!!!!!

BTW if you dont change yr intake gasket, the oil leak if you have one will get worse, most of the time they leak in the back rail
