i tried matching up my intake gaskets to my intake ports (heads are ported) and i noticed the intake gasket would block a bit of the intake passage.
is it alright if i open them up a little bit to match the opening? i would possibly go a little past the blue ring around the port. can i lightly spread blue or black rtv on the gasket to seal it?

 

go to afr's website and buy some bigger gaskets. measure your size and just get the fel pro part number from here and go to your local parts store and pick it up. http://www.airflowresearch.com/parts.php 3/4 of the way down.
yes they are stanard SBC gaskets, all you have to do is cut out the bolt holes for the centers
