Intake differences

I've noticed that my LT1 intake of a Caprice has a fuel line connecting the two fuel rails on the intake, it's at an angle when your looking at the top of the intake. I've noticed some don't have this metal pipe connecting them.

Is this a Caprice/Impala thing, or did it only come on certain years? Is one better than the other?

Oh yea, my intake looks like crap, what's a good aluminum polish or something to help me bring her back?

Thanks, Matt

If you are talking about the line at the front of the intake, it was on 93 Z28s also. If you are just doing a mild engine, no need to change it.

As far as cleaning it, use a wire brush on a dremel, it cleans right up.

I'm going the 383 N/A route with ported stock heads. Should I keep this intake or will I be better off with a later model LT1 intake?

Thanks in advance, Matt

Yours is the later model intake if it has the fuel line connecting the rails. The only ones that didn't have it were the '92 vette LT1s and the '93 LT1s
