Question Installing Scanmaster on 97 SS w/ OBDI?!?!?

I got a datamaster from my 94 Camaro that I successfully hooked up when I had that car. Now I have a 97 Camaro with a OBDI swap. . . I'm not sure which wires are which and don't have a manual for it. Which wire is the signal wire that I hook into for the information?

Are you hookin a datamaster or a Scanmaster?

Data wire. Connect to the "data" terminal in the ALDL connector. In the 94's this it the lower right hand pin. On all models, this is a light tan wire.

Depending on your connector its either pin 12 for a 12 pin ALDL or 9 for a 16 pin ALDL

Should be one of those.

Looks like Brent did this on his 96SS with an OBD1 PCM, Heres the link:

You should probably PM him if you have any detail questions.

Thx,
Claude

Yep, I did this The listed page above will show you exactly what to do. FYI, it doesn't matter if it has an OBDI or OBDII PCM... the wiring stays the same at the ALDL connector. In fact, I would sometimes switch back and forth between OBDI and OBDII PCMs (My OBDI PCM has been modified to accept an OBDII style 100k ohm knock sensor)
