Installing new MAP pigtail.

If I bought a new MAP pigtail to replace mine since the clip is broken, is it just a cut and splice? Would I use butt splice crimps? Would they be the best?

Yes you can splice on the new pigtail. I would solder then heatshrink personally.

This is what I did. I have a plunger like tool that pops the terminals out of the new pigtail so I can simply switch the busted plastic socket with the new socket. Problem now the tab on the new socket does not line up with the hook on the sensor, very strange.

I went ahead and went back to the zip ties to keep it attached. The pigtail I got was the Borg Warner BTW.

Another vote for solder and heatshrink.
