Well you will have to eventually have to remove the alternator, dipstick (may need to buy annother one), starter, oil filter, pass valve cover, and may have to jack up the engine.

The pass headder goes in from the top, driver from the bottom.

As far as the manifolds, just the bolts and egr connections and they should fall off.

Re: Installing my Jet Hots...

If you remove the EGR pipe from the back of the intake manifold, then once you get the dipstick and starter out of the way, the passenger manifold should come right out.

I put both of mine in from the bottom, and did not have to remove either valve cover.

I did remove the steering shaft on the driver's side so I had plenty of clearance.

I had to remove the oil filter.

You should be able to just plug the emissions fittings.

You'll have to tune the EGR and AIR out of the PCM so you don't stare at the SES every time you drive.

The only "sensors" you should have disconnected should have been the AIR, EGR (outside of blocking off the holes for them that stuff can go in the garbage), the front and rear o2 sensors. The rear o2 sensors can be turned off in the PCM or you can use simulators if you're going to run an O-R pipe. The front o2 sensors will be used in the new headers so there's very little that you won't use after the headers are installed.

Are you going in from the top? That worked best for me.

Re: Installing my Jet Hots...

When I did mine, I lifted the car pretty high. My 3-ton jackstands were completly closed (all the way down) but sitting on 2 layers of 4" solid concrete blocks. The jackstands were positioned where the front subframe meets up with the body.

I had the header almost on it's side and lifted the front of the flange and front primaries up in then forward/up, then rotate a little and forward/up more, then rotate a little and forward/up more. I have an A4 and had to push or pull the trannny cooler lines over out of the way a tiny bit while working the header in.

I did this from under the car.

Re: Installing my Jet Hots...

Well we finally got them in .I took the 2 motor mount bolts out and put our jack under the tranny and raised the engine up.Then my dad raised the header up from the bottom while I rocked the engine and it came right up.Dipstick went right back in real easy...i'm getting plugs today and going to fire it up and listen to some thunder .

So all I have to do is tune for the Air tube and emissions and plug them....I put the EGR back on but i like the the engine bay without all those tubes for emissions so i'm going to leave them off....is that alright?
