Installing Intake Manifold

is it true that while installing your intake manifold.. if u tighten all the bolts on one side then all the bolts on the otherside.. it creates a problem with the gasket? that it may cause the car to leak coolant into the oil?

Re: Installing Intake Manifold

Looking at the intake manifold from the front

6 -- 8
5 -- 7
1 -- 2
4 -- 3
11 -- 9
12 -- 10

That's the proper tightening sequence.

Re: Installing Intake Manifold

If I'm not mistaken there are no coolant passages in the intake manifold, there's no way that it would cause coolant to end up in your oil. Improper installation of the manifold might cause a vacuum leak, but not coolant in the oil.

Re: Installing Intake Manifold

Improper install could and most likely will cause an oil leak too. Tighten in the proper sequence.
