Installing Intake, have part left over, help ASAP

Hey guys. I am putting together my pos lt1 after a lifter/opti swap. I got the intake manifold on, I am going to remove the EGR (for now use the EGR valve itself as a plug) and plug up the other pipe ends. Now, I have a small cylindrical part left over that looks like it just slid over the smaller fuel rail. I don't have a bigger one for the bigger fuel rail, was there one? And also, does this piece just sit in the smaller fuel rail pipe while you connect it together? Thanks guys.

are u referring to the fuel lines or the fuel rails? U dont need to remove the rails to do the intake swap. On the fuel lines the only thing I can think of is the rubber peices around the fittings, which should stay on there when u remove them. If u can snap a pic and post it or e-mail it to me I could prob. help u out, but I'm not sure what u are talking bout????????

Damn, I don't have my digital camera at home. It fell out when I tiped the intake over once it was on the ground (rails still attached but fuel lines removed). The only thing I can see it come from is the smaller line on the fuel rail where it attaches to the fuel lines. I think its some kind of a valve. The small line is the return line, right? Well, this looks like it could be a valve that opens with pressure. I am not sure what it does, its such a pita.
