Installing headers with no muffler?

Half of my cat-back has rusted out a while ago, and I'm stuck in deciding what to do. My brother is giving me 650 or so to buy me new exhaust ( my twin is pimp yo! ) and I'm not sure if I should install a new cat/muffler/tips combo, or put headers on. It rusted off where the pipe goes right past the axle and connects with the muffler. Would it be too loud? Would I feel any difference? The car still has on a cat btw. Just wanna get your guys input on what to do, im lost here. If I should go cat back, which would be the best? SLP loud mouth? I woudl want quad tips if I did. I'm looking for sound mostly, with not as bad of a drone on high way speeds. Thanks guys!

Re: Installing headers with no muffler?

My vote goes toward the hooker catback. I had a flowmaster when i bought the car, but i since changed it out with an off road y pipe, and I get quite a few comments on her. Having the 230/236 cam helps out a bit too. But back to the cat back, the hooker is cheap, plus its has a great tone, and very bearable at highway cruisin.
