installing engine

I pulled my motor out a couple of weeks ago and I'm getting ready to reinstall it. I pulled it out through the top without the tranny, and the heads and intake were off. I was wondering if I could put it back in with the heads on? I don't want to ruin a new set of head gaskets by trying it and having to take the heads off so could anyone who has done this give me advise.

I'm in the same situation as you. I was told by my friend that has done a bunch that yes, you can get it back in with the heads on, it is just a tighter fit and you need to be more careful. I'm gonna try it this weekend hopefully.

I'm planning on putting mine in this weekend too, I was hoping I could find out weather or not to try it by then.

Re: installing engine

he says it can be done, and he's done more than a few so I trust him. It will just take some finesse and careful movements to squeze it in.
