I installed them yesterday, adjusted them while running after preloading etc.. back off until it clacks and then tighten it down until it stops clacking and lock it in place. It seems that they are really loud, maybe almost like they came loose? They are Proform 1.6 ratio roller rockers. I still am using the stock valve covers with no modifications. Is this normal? Several people have said they are too loud, and sound loose, but the car is running great, and pulling harder.

 

hmmmmm...dunno about proform...i got cranes and they are marginally louder than stock.

 

Check to make sure they are not making contact with the valve covers. Take the driver side cover off since it is easier and see if that side gets quieter.

 

Sounds like you are not setting the locks right. After you find your adjustment you set the setscrew then turn the nut an additional X turn

 

I agree sounds like not enough preload. I have Proform 1.5s with over 40K on them around 28K of that with upgraged springs and a ZZ3 cam. Oil selection can quiet rockers as well.
